How do I extend my current/ongoing trip?

If you need to extend your trip you can do so on our iPhone® or Android™ mobile app following the steps below:

  1. Open the Zipcar mobile app
  2. View Current Trip and then select Extend to extend
  3. Click Update Trip to verify your extension is complete

Keep In Mind

  • If you are unable to extend your trip, please return on time as someone may have the car booked after you
  • If you have text alerts enabled in your notification settings, you can extend your trip by replying to us via SMS
