For standard membership plans in the United States:

How to manage drivers on your Family Plan

Add or remove drivers, plus change their Damage Protection, at any time.

  • Sign into your account page here.
  • Under Manage your account, click on the People tab.
    • To add drivers:
      • Click + Add member

      • Enter the driver’s email, select the Damage Protection plan you want them to have and then click Send invite.

      • Once your drivers accept and are approved, they can begin booking trips on your account using the Family Plan as their payment method.

    • To remove drivers:
      • Click the three dots to the right of the driver you want to remove and click Remove member.
    • To update Damage Protection plans:
      • Click the three dots to the right of the driver you want to updated and click Update damage protection.
      • Select the Damage protection plan you want them to have and click Update protection.

 

Note

  • The Family Plan is currently only available in the United States and it is not available for University or Business membership plans.
  • All membership fees and trips will be billed to the default method on your account.
  • If the driver you are adding is new to Zipcar, a $25.00 one-time application fee may apply.
  • If the driver you are adding already has a Zipcar membership, you can still invite them to be a driver on your account.
  • If you remove a driver from your Family Plan, any upcoming trips scheduled for that driver will be cancelled. Cancellation fees may apply, and you will not be refunded any membership or damage protection fees that have occurred before the end of your billing cycle.

  • Sign into your account page here.
  • On your account page, under my membership, select manage drivers on my account. Here you will be able to approve or remove membership of additional drivers.

Note:

  • All membership fees and trips will be billed to the default method on your account.
  • If the driver being adding is new to Zipcar, a $25.00 one-time application fee may apply.

For Business membership plans in the United States or Canada:

  • Sign into your account page here.
  • On your account page, under my membership, select manage drivers on my account. Here you will be able to approve or remove membership of additional drivers.
