How do I join an existing family or business account?

Whether you already have a Zipcar account or membership, you have the ability to join and drive under a family or business account other than your own.

To join an account, you must be invited by an admin or owner of the account. Once invited, you will receive an email invitation to join the account and, for users who don't already have a Zipcar membership, be invited to submit an application to drive.

We encourage users to reach out directly to the admins and owners of family and business accounts directly to request an invitation to join their account.

Keep In Mind

  • Zipcar is unable to provide the admin or owner contact information of a family or business account
  • Zipcar is unable to add drivers directly to a family or business account
  • If you are invited to join a family or business account, an active account and approved application to drive are required
