To edit your Zipcar booking use the Zipcar mobile app on iPhone® or Android™ devices. Booking modifications can be made before or during your trip. Once your trip has ended, bookings can no longer be modified.
Extend Your Trip During an Active Reservation
Quick Extend (Up to 2 Hours)
If your trip is already in progress, you can extend it directly in the Zipcar app.
- Open the Zipcar app.
- Navigate to the Drive tab.
- Tap Extend.
- Select an available extension time slot (Unavailable times are greyed out).
- Tap Confirm and Pay to complete the extension.
Extend for More Than 2 Hours
- On the Zipcar app, navigate to the Drive tab.
- Tap Extend to open the extend screen.
- On the Extend screen, tap View Full Availability.
- You will be redirected to the Edit trip page, tap Edit trip.
- Select Drop-Off Time to open the time selection wheel (Unavailable times are greyed out).
- The new cost of your reservation will be shown on the update button, tap Update to save your changes.
Modify Your Reservation (Before or During Your Trip)
Use these steps to edit a trip before it starts, shorten a trip, or make longer extensions.
- Go to the Trips tab and select View Details under your active or upcoming trip.
- Once on the trip screen, tap Edit Trip to make changes.
- Select Drop-Off Time to open the time selection wheel (Unavailable times are greyed out).
- The new cost of your reservation will be shown on the update button, tap Update to save your changes.
Keep In Mind
- If the car appears unavailable, it means you cannot book that time frame, and the car must be returned by your scheduled reservation end time.
- If you have text alerts enabled in your notification settings, you can extend your trip by replying to us via SMS
