Inspect and Report

Before you start driving, you must inspect your Zipcar inside and out and report any problems. This will help ensure our vehicles get the care they need and you are not held responsible for any issues.

What to Report 

We ask that you report any problem with the vehicle, including:

  • Vehicle damage, including scratches or dents larger than a credit card
  • Fuel left below ¼ tank
  • Dirty vehicles, including litter, smoke, pet hair, or anything else that might affect another member’s experience
  • Warning lights, flat tires, and other maintenance issues

How to Report

Please report any issues through the Zipcar iPhone® or Android™ app by clicking Report on the Drive screen. You will be prompted to submit photos and a brief description of the problem.


If you feel that the vehicle is too dangerous or dirty to drive, please call us at 866-4ZIPCAR.
