Before being able to unlock your car with the mobile app, there are some features that need to be enabled and some permissions that will have to be granted. Usually, we'll ask that you turn on these features and allow these permissions when you first use the app. If you're still having some challenges unlocking your Zipcar, check here for more troubleshooting tips.
Apple iOS
- Go to your Settings app
- Find or search for Zipcar
- Under Location be sure it's set to While Using the App and Precise Location is enabled
- Bluetooth should be enabled
- Cellular Data should also be enabled as a fallback if Bluetooth doesn't work
Google Android
- Open your Settings
- Go to the Apps section
- Under All Apps either find or search for Zipcar
- Select Permissions
- Select Location, tap Allow only while using the app and Use precise location is toggled on
